It is made up of two oval-shaped sections. Both have been arranged upside down, being rotated 135 degrees counterclockwise and put together. The Five-Ram Stone Sculpture

The Five-Ram Stone Sculpture, is one of the most famous scenic spots in Guangzhou. In 1959, the whole sculpture was built using 130 pieces of marbles. There is an ancient legend behind the sculpture: More than 1000 years ago, Guangzhou was a poor land where people could barely support themselves. Then one day, people heard a heavenly song and saw five fairies wearing colorful dress and riding five rams with each ram carrying six bundles of grains in its mouth. They gave the grains to the people and blessed the place forever with a good harvest, and then the fairies left but the five rams were turned into stones. Since then Guangzhou became a prosperous land. That’s why Guangzhou is also called Ram City or Grain City.

Baiyun Mountain

Every time the sun shines after the rain, and through late spring, a wreath of airy clouds circles the mountains. This is how Baiyun Mountain won its name (baiyun means white cloud) and its reputation as a marvelous spectacle of nature. The fierce differentiation of rocks, and the different ways in which erosion has affected them, has caused it a crisscross network of gullies. Although its relative height is only about 300 meters, the quiet and secluded environment of the valley has made it a haven of peace from the big city.
